A kiss is the touching of one person’s lips to another place, which is used as an expression of affection, respect, greeting, farewell, good luck, romantic affection or sexual desire.
From a Cable TV Program a KISS shows several facial muscles to work. Prevents bad breath and so much more for their station ID. For us Filipinos a Kiss simply shows, respect to elderly, bidding goodbyes, saying hellos, and by way of telling someone that you care. A Kiss is demonstrated in several different ways and with several meanings. For example, a kiss on the forehead shows respect, and even care, on the cheeks as in cheeks-to-cheeks will be interpreted as greetings just like the Russians. But to Kiss that will cost you your hard earned Diploma – that’s outrageous!
That was what happened to a student from Bonny High School in Maine. While he was about to accept his Diploma on stage -he blew a kiss to his family and the School Administrator sent him back to his seat without the Diploma. Too bad for the boy! I’m sure he was just demonstrating some level of happiness after years of schooling, now he will receive his recognition and yet deprived of it at the very moment.
School authorities have said that kind of behavior is prohibited according to the rules imposed for which students have agreed. Don’t you think school authorities should amend such rules? To think that the U.S. is the number one advocate of democracy and yet a certain learning institution from one of its States can’t practice that.
